Medieval Buddhist shrines at Gampola
Gampola, the medieval capital of Sri Lanka during 1346 AD-1408 AD is home to a multitude of Buddhist shrines famous for art and architecture of the Kandyan tradition. Among the preserved monuments of Gampola era, the most famous Buddhist shrines are Lankathilaka, Gadaladeniya and Embekka Devalaya.

Ambuluwawa Multi-religious complex and Bio-diversity Park
The modern edifice at Ambuluwawa is a thrilling and adventurous climb that takes you up to the foggy sky at 3567 ft above the sea-level. Ambuluwawa is no less than sweeping celebration of biodiversity and multi-religious nature of Gampola.

The complex consists of Rock Park, Water Park, Deer Park and a high rising, winding tower resembling a Buddhist Stupa set up on the very summit of the mountain. The hill top religious complex houses shrines for Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Christians. The observation room on the summit is set up to admire the unrivaled panoramic view of Gampola.
